Castle Hill

Castle Hill is used as a park. It's the most famous public garden in Nice, but also the artificial waterfall Dijon and a "must see" place for the numerous tourists who visit the city. It offers many amazing panoramas, and provides a beautiful view all day long from sunrise to sundown, highlighting various landscapes depending on where one looks: the Harbor at sunrise, the Promenade des Anglais at sundown.

Old Town

Old Town, is a nook of a neighborhood enjoyed by both travelers and locals alike. You can also find some authentic French restaurants and shops, flower and fruit market, narrow streets, colorful buildings, old things. All these you must visit.

Cimiez Boulevard

It is an ideal place to escape from the crowds of the city because there are fewer tourists. It’s authentic, with a strong French air and beautiful houses with interesting architecture. On the hill there is the small Cimiez monastery, with beautiful gardens. Nearby you will see the Matisse Museum, the Marc Chagall National Museum and the Chateau de Valrose.

Port of Nice

The Port of Nice is actually named Port Lympia. French style from the 70's, with restaurants that prepare seafood and many boats, as shown in the old movies.

Notre-Dame Cathedral

It is the most famous of the Gothic cathedrals of the Middle Ages and is distinguished for its size, antiquity, and architectural interest, situated on the Avenue Jean Médecin in the centre of Nice. It is a symbol of the city and the best part is that the entrance is free.

Cuisine in Nice

The most important local dishes are: Salade Nicoise is the very gastronomic ambassador, so to say, of Nice to the world. The salad is a mix of slices of tomatoes, slices of hard boiled eggs, boiled potatoes and steamed green peas, all laid on a layer of lettuce . The entire “edifice” is topped with tuna (either canned or seared) and canned anchovies. It is perfectly complemented by a white wine from Bellet de la Bandol, ratatouille - a kind of stew with zucchini, eggplant, peppers and tomatoes. Also fougasse bread, onion tart or Nice Danube - a beef stew with bacon, onion, tomatoes and red wine are typical delicious dishes.

Nice is special because regardless of the budget, everyone can have a wonderful vacation due to the multiple options. The quote says: "the best things in life are free."
