Moscow-the emblem city of the former Soviet Union became a favorite destination for people around the world. Besides being the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow is one of the six greatest cities in the world, hiding stories which could amaze anyone nowadays. FLYONE offers you the opportunity to visit the capital of Russia, operating daily flights, our times a day, two flights to Vnukovo airport and two to Domodedovo airport

Good to know

Modern Moscow is the result of the transformations suffered in the latest two centuries. It was founded by Iuryi Dolgoruky in 1147, originating its name in the Moskva River, tributary of the Oka River, which crosses along the city. Across time, Moscow was subject to different tragic events. In 1812 the city was burned by the French troops led by Napoleon Bonaparte. Centuries ago it was robbed and arsoned by the Tatars, then by the Polish-Lithuanian army. It was also the territory of different conflicts and riots. Peter the Ist’s coming to power identified itself with the transition of the Russian capital to Sankt-Petersburg. After the October revolution, Moscow became again the capital of the already Soviet Union. The city presents a radial structure, and is the host to 14 million people. The climate is mainly continental, with extremes varying from +30 C in summer to – 30 C in winter.

How to get there?

Moscow possesses a well-developed transportation network, including nine rail terminals, the famous Moscow subway and four international airports, among which is Domodedovo-the place where you will be landing. Busses, trolleybuses and trams operate from 5.30 am to 01.00 am on daily basis. The city is known for its subway network, used by people traveling long distances. The price for one trip is around 30 Roubles, but you can also buy subway passes at the many ticket offices underground. If you plan to spend a few days in Moscow you can buy a pass for 10, 20 or 30 trips, saving, thus, a lot of money. You can also take the taxi, if it is the case, and one trip could cost you around 500 Roubles. Nevertheless, if you were to visit the centre of Moscow, we would recommend you to do it by foot and enjoy its splendor.

What can you see?

Moscow represents a real economic, political and cultural centre for the country, host to 70 important educational institutions, among which Lomonosov State University, 700 scientific institutions, a series of museums and art galleries, historical monuments, churches and cathedrals. A unique trait of this specific territory is the exceptional architectural style of the buildings-the onion like chapels. Moscow is also the home to the biggest Russian fortress, dating from back in the Middle Ages, the Kremlin. Registered by the UNESCO as a cultural symbol for the world heritage, the Kremlin is also the administrative and symbolic centre of the Russian Federation.

When counting the tourist attractions of Mocow, we must not forget the famous Red Square, which is right in the middle of the city and is being visited by countless tourists each year. It contains the St Vasilyi Blajennyi Cathedral, the State History Museum, Lenin’s Mausoleum, the biggest shopping centre, and one of Kremlin walls.

Tretyakov Gallery is one of the biggest and most beautiful museums in the world and is dedicated solely to Russian art: paintings and sculptures of the most famous Russian artists and the richest collection of old Russian religious icons.

Bolshoi Theatre is one of the most important theatres in the world, where opera and ballet plays are being played. By the way, you can also rest next to the famous well around it and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

Gorky Park is the biggest and most famous Moscow park, amazing you with its walking lanes, statues and cafes, where you can meet your friends and enjoy a good cup of coffee. In wintertime, the alleys are adorned with ice statues and many ice rinks are open to visitors.

Moreover, you can revel in the many touristic attractions of national interest: palaces and castles, cathedrals, churches, museums, parks and gardens, buildings and towers. The Moscow White House, the Lubyanka Prison, the TV Tower and the Ostankino Palace are just some of the most interesting places you must see if you go to Moscow.
