Cheap flights and Cheap Holidays to Venice

Venice is the city you must visit at least once. It's phenomenal to see the canals full of gondolas and romantic bridges, as well as the labyrinth of narrow streets.

What to visit in Venice

Piazza San Marco

The location is famous both because here are three tourist attractions in one place, but also because it's a spot that reminds you of Napoleon's words - "Piazza San Marco is the gateway to Europe!".

St Mark's Basilica

It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Venice. A magnificent building with opulent decoration both outside and inside. The walls and ceiling have gilded mosaics, and inside you can admire the Pala D'Oro altar with gold icons.

Campanile di San Marco

A majestic building that stands at a colossal 98.6 m high, from where an extraordinary view opens up.

Grand Canal

Home to architectural treasures with hundreds of impressive buildings. Tourists can admire churches, palaces and houses dating from the 13th-18th centuries.

Doge's Palace

This embellished palace is stunning, and its front façade features a beautiful arched white stone design with a series of diamond patterns on the walls.

Inside, the palace is no less impressive and there are a number of hugely decorated rooms that all have original details, furniture and artwork.

Bridge of Sighs

It connects the Doge's Palace to the palace prison building on the other side of the Rio de la Canonica channel.

Legend says that the name of the bridge comes from the sighs of the prisoners who saw Venice for the last time as they walked from the interrogation room to the cells where they were imprisoned.

Rialto Bridge

An important thoroughfare of the city connecting San Marco and San Polo.

Near the Rialto Bridge there is also one of the most photogenic places in Venice, Libreria Acqua Alta.

Scala Contarini del Bovolo

This is a small Venetian palace with an absolutely fantastic spiral staircase.

Museum of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco

Thanks to its architecture, the white marble building is itself a work of art. Beyond the impressive exterior, the interior is even more sumptuous.

La Fenice Theatre

One of the most famous opera, ballet and concert halls in the world.

Murano, Burani and Torcello islands

Burano houses colourful, beautiful little houses. The island of Murano offers a unique spectacle, glassblowing. Torcello Island is very different from its neighbouring islands. It is wilder and has plenty of quality attractions, such as the Devil's Bridge, the church of Santa Fosca, the Museo dell'Estuario and Attila's throne.

Venice Carnival

The Venetian Carnival is famous all over the world. Everyone is aware of the superb masks and extravagant costumes. It has been held for centuries and is part of the culture and traditions of Venice.

Cuisine

Renowned especially for its fish and seafood dishes, it is a real tourist attraction for many.

Venetian ice cream is famous among both locals and international tourists.
