On 19 July 2021, Resolution No. 57 of the CNESP of 17 July 2021 came into force, which sets out new measures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection when crossing the state border on entry into the Republic of Moldova.
Thus, 2 categories of zones are identified: red zone and green zone.
Entry into the Republic of Moldova from countries classified in the green zone:
- Providing a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, performed no more than 72 hours before boarding;
- If PCR test is not presented, self-isolation for 14 days is imposed. The epidemiological form must be completed and a self-declaration of compliance with the self-isolation regime must be signed. In the case of minors up to 14 years, the epidemiological form and the self-declaration shall be completed and signed by the legal representative or accompanying person.
Exceptions apply to:
- People holding a confirmatory anti-COVID-19 vaccination document;
- Children up to 6 years;
- People holding a confirmatory certificate of the presence of anti-COVID-19 antibodies, presented in one of the languages Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Russian. The confirmatory document, presented in paper or electronic format, is valid for 90 days from the date of the investigation.
- Pupils/students up to 18 years, who are going to take exams, who are going to study in educational establishments/institutions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova or abroad, or who are travelling for activities related to the completion/ organization/ performance of studies, participation in international competitions or Olympiads, with the presentation of confirmatory documents, as well as their accompanying persons;
- Minors up to 18 years, accompanied by persons in possession of a confirmatory document of administration of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine;
- People travelling for imperative health or humanitarian reasons, including their accompanying person, if applicable (on presentation of confirmatory documents);
- Other exceptions here.
Entry into the Republic of Moldova from countries classified in the red zone:
- The 14-day self-isolation regime is imposed. Concerned people will have to fill, obligatorily, the epidemiological form, as well as sign the self-declaration of compliance with the 14-day self-isolation regime in the declared places. In the case of minors up to 14 years, the epidemiological form and the self-declaration shall be completed and signed by the legal representative or accompanying person.
Exceptions apply to:
- People holding a confirmatory anti-COVID-19 vaccination certificate, and the second dose being administered at least 14 days before the trip.
- Children up to 6 years;
- Children between 6 and 18 years, if they have a negative COVID-19 PCR test, performed no more than 72 hours before boarding;
- People who have a confirmed COVID-19 antibody test. The confirmation, presented in paper or electronic format, is valid for 90 days from the date of the investigation;
- People in transit. The itinerary of transit is determined by the border officer;
- People, who have not been allowed to enter the neighbouring state (Romania or Ukraine) through road crossing points or people, who have not been allowed to leave the Republic of Moldova or have not been allowed to remove goods and other items;
ATTENTION:
People placed on self-isolation, arriving from countries classified as green or red zone, can stop this regime after the 7th day if they perform a COVID-19 PCR test and the result is negative.
