Frankfurt, or Frankfurt on the Main it is the fifth largest city in Germany. As it is called Frankfurt on the Main, the city is located on the Main River and is the largest city in the federal state of Hesse. The city has long held the title of financial capital of Germany, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is the largest in the country, being responsible for 85% of the shares in Germany, and one of the largest in the world. In Frankfurt the headquarters of the European Central Bank, of the German Federal Bank, as well as the headquarters of a large number of private commercial banks are located. In addition, there are some of the most important exhibitions in the world here, such as the Frankfurt Motor Show and the Frankfurt Book Fair.

What shoud we see?
Romerberg Square, where the old city centre and the city hall are located. Unlike the skyscrapers you see in other areas of the city, here you can find old buildings and churches, in this area you can see the Roman ruins of the Archäologische Garten, the Church of the other Nikolaikirche, the old castle Saalhof, and also Rententurm or the Wharfinger tower, an old fortified tower that is part of the Saalhof.
Also, the Christmas Market is in the Romerberg Square - it is the central market not in vain and, at the same time, the most beautiful market in Frankfurt. The eastern side of the market is known as Ostzeile, a row of six traditional picturesque houses, which are half-timbered buildings. Crossing the street, we arrive at one of the best places to eat traditional German sausages or a portion of well-roasted ham, plus a potato salad - Fleischerverband Hessen.
The Goethe House is expecting to be visited. Johann Wolfgang lived here until 1765, before moving to Leipzig to study law. Goethe later wrote about his childhood spent here in his autobiography Aus Meinem Leben: Dichtung und Wahrheit, thus making his parental home known throughout the world. In the museum you can admire works of art that make up a genuine collection, and also the office where Goethe worked, the entrance ticket being 7 euros.
Other attractions in Frankfurt that bear witness to the writer’s fame are the Goethe Tower, a 43-meter-high wooden structure, and Goethestrasse, a high-end shopping area with many boutiques, art galleries and cafes.
Zeil Street is the main shopping street in Frankfurt, where we also find the My Zeil mall, a futuristic building with expensive shops, and also with a huge restaurant with a fixed price menu, many tables and Wi-Fi.
The Iron Bridge. Frankfurt has a bridge for lovers, this being the Iron Bridge, which offers beautiful views of the Main River. Eiserner Steg is already over a hundred years old, with water levels recorded showing how deep the water was in Frankfurt.
Eurotower,The Main Tower and European Central Bank. Frankfurt is among the few European cities with so many skyscrapers gathered in one place. Eurotower is a 40-story, 148-metre skyscraper located in the Innenstadt district. It comprises 78,000 m2 used as offices and is the place where the first euro was made.
The Main Tower, the city’s highest vantage point, is a 56-story, 240-metre tall skyscraper, including the antenna tip, located in the same district, Innenstadt. The tower also has five underground floors, as well as two public viewing platforms. It is the only skyscraper in Frankfurt with a public observatory, the entrance being 7.5 euros.
