In light of the inaccurate information recently circulated in the public space regarding ticket prices, we would like to clarify the situation concerning flights from Dubai. Contrary to certain published statements, we inform that all passengers who purchased their FLYONE tickets in advance and were stranded in the United Arab Emirates are returning to the Republic of Moldova on flights operated by FLYONE, without any additional costs. Only a limited number of seats have been made available for sale, representing the remaining unoccupied seats on the aircraft.
Please note that the flight is being operated on an alternative route that avoids the area of military operations and is significantly longer than the standard one. This results in substantial additional costs, including:
- On the Chișinău – Dubai sector, the aircraft operates without passengers, with FLYONE bearing the full cost of the flight, only partially reflected in the price of the limited number of tickets sold;
- An additional technical stop in Egypt for refueling;
- Increased fuel consumption;
- Fuel prices increased by over 50% due to the energy crisis;
- Additional airport taxes and ground handling costs at the airport where the stopover is performed;
- Ongoing review of insurance conditions by insurers.
Under these circumstances, the total cost of operating the flight exceeds by more than double the cost of a standard scheduled route, and the impact on the one-way ticket price is at least four times higher compared to normal operating conditions. The prices for the very limited number of remaining tickets (considering that most FLYONE passengers hold round-trip tickets) are comparable to those of other operators and are strictly based on the significantly increased costs mentioned above.
At the same time, for flights operated after March 12, we expect a return to normal operating conditions, with fares starting from €159, which are lower than those of many other operators flying from the region.
We emphasize that it is inappropriate to compare this situation with other airlines that benefit from support and incentives from national authorities, both for their ongoing operations and for repatriation flights. Furthermore, we can confirm that passengers without FLYONE tickets traveled to Dubai with other operators and were subsequently left without information or alternative options.
FLYONE continues to make every effort to manage this exceptional situation responsibly.
Thank you for your understanding.
