Krasnodar - Caressing sun, proximity to the sea, southern hospitality, and aromatic wine.

Krasnodar is a modern developing city, one of the most developed cities in the South of Russia. The city is developed in the field of culture and is especially known as the cultural center of the Caucasus. There are many museums, art centers, and historical monuments here, a great place to see Russian-Caucasian culture up close.

Krasnodar is one of the ten most visited in Russia. More and more people are choosing it when planning a weekend trip to get acquainted with the local attractions, which abound here. You can visit museums, historical sites, or spend time in nature.

What to visit in Krasnodar

The city center

One of the main attractions of the city is Krasnaya Street. Here are the old buildings of the merchants of Tsarist Russia, dilapidated houses with colorful balconies, the mansions of the nobles of that time, as well as the historical monuments, a fountain named after Catherine II. The most famous sights in this part are Alexandrov triumphal arch, a monument to Catherine II, a sculpture of walking dogs, drama theater, musical theater, philharmonic, puppet theater, museums, library, Zhukov square, theatrical square, the Aurora cinema, the Floral Clock. On weekends here, right on the street, all possible performances and events are held: dances, competitions, painting, board games, the city seems to be reviving after hard working days. Although Krasnodar is quite a quiet city, the center is still the safest place, therefore, it is recommended to stop there on Krasnaya, Mira, Lenin, Pashkovskaya, Dlinnaya streets.

Merchant Rubezhansky estate

The estate of the merchant Rubezhansky, which dates back to the early 20th century, was built in 1908 in a modern style.

Felitsin Historical-Archaeological Reserve-Museum

It was founded in 1879. It is a structure of federal significance. About 428 thousand exhibits are kept in the museum.

Kovalenko Art Museum:

The oldest art museum with over 9000 works of art. Located on Red Street, the museum attracts attention with its architecture. An hour's visit is enough to fully explore the museum.

Cathedral of Catherine II:

Enthusiasts of history and architecture should definitely visit this magnificent building, built-in 1890 on the instructions of Catherine II, the founder of the city, which gives an older historical feel with its architectural texture.

Professor Kosenko Botanic Garden:

One of the most beautiful natural places where you can spend your time in peace. This large botanical garden with growing trees and flowers is ideal for picnics and outdoor activities.

Kitchen:

Krasnodar is one of the few places where you can taste traditional Russian-Caucasian dishes. Kazakh cuisine is also an important part of Krasnodar's culinary culture. We also recommend trying one of the city's favorite dishes - Kazakh ravioli.
